An American man fatally shot his wife before turning the gun on himself in Pennsylvania, leaving their five children orphans days before Christmas.
It was around 7 p.m. Thursday that an argument between Blaise Rais and his wife Brooke broke out in Greenwood. It was following this altercation that the 39-year-old man shot the 34-year-old woman in the head, killing her instantly. He then inflicted the same fate on himself, said Logan Township Police Chief Dave Hoover.
Although four of their children were present at the time of the tragedy, it was not until 7:30 p.m. that the 911 call was made when their eldest who was returning from work found them lifeless, reported local media “Altoona Mirror”.
After being questioned by the police, the couple’s children were placed in the care of family members by social services.
“We try to go back, fill the day. We are trying to find a motive,” Chief Hoover explained to the American media.
