This Sunday, a man died following being shot in San Juan de la Costa. The incident occurred in the Purrahue sector, where the victim identified as Alex Lican Lican, 40, was sharing with his father-in-law and another family member inside a building, noticing shots coming from a wooded area.

After the three left the home, the victim received a projectile in the skull, and was transferred to the Misión de San Juan de la Costa hospital, where despite all resuscitation maneuvers, death was confirmed.

The prosecutor on duty instructed that personnel from the Homicide Brigade of the Investigative Police carry out tasks specific to their specialty, while the victim’s body was transferred to the Osorno Legal Medical Service.

According to Subprefect Javier Yusti, Head of the Osorno Homicide Brigade, the man entered the healthcare center with a wound, apparently caused by a firearm, to his head. “After carrying out the various procedures throughout this entire day, it was possible to establish that, indeed, the victim along with some friends were sharing their home, when at around 1 or 2 in the morning they heard noises in the place where were. When we went out to check what was happening, some shots were heard, one arriving and wounding the now deceased.”

“Until now, various procedures continue to be carried out in order to establish the dynamics and the accused or possible perpetrators of this incident,” concluded Yusti.
