A young man died Monday evening in a work accident on the site of a plastic production company in Lommel. Around 5:30 p.m., firefighters in the North Limburg emergency response zone were informed of a trapped person. The Lommel fire station attended the scene, as did an ambulance and a SMUR team.
On site, in rue Gerard Mercator, a young worker seemed attached to a machine. However, no help might help the eighteen-year-old man from Lommel.
The local police in Lommel made the necessary findings. An investigation into the circumstances of the accident was opened by the labor inspectorate. Victim Assistance has been requested to support the victim’s colleagues and family members.
