Alarm triggered
At 2:15 p.m., a train on line C traveling in the direction of Villenave-Pyrénées broke down, causing a disruption in traffic on a section between Quinconces and Saint-Jean station. “A team of technicians positioned in Quinconces immediately went to the site with the “road-rail” recovery vehicle in order to unblock the train. To overcome this difficulty, travelers were invited to take Tram line B at Place des Quinconces for the bus shuttles to the stadium,” specifies TBM. Traffic was able to resume normally a quarter of an hour later.
Except that at 2:45 p.m., a passenger triggered the alarm in another train, near the 40-Journaux station, the penultimate stop before the Matmut Atlantique stadium, thus blocking the convoy, but also the two trains following. Traffic resumed less than ten minutes later. If these two incidents played a role in the disorganization observed around the stadium, they could not, however, be the only triggers.
