Rescuers on the accident track

Beijing: Due to heavy snowfall, 515 people were injured in the train collision in China’s subway. The accident happened on the Changping Line in Beijing on Thursday evening. The automatic braking system was working in the train following snow fell on the train. At the same time, the train coming behind might not stop and the two trains collided. All the passengers were evacuated from the accident site by 11 pm.

Due to the unusual snowfall that started in China last Wednesday, the services of many trains were suspended. Schools are also closed.

The night temperature is minus 11 degrees Celsius. A cold wind is blowing widely across northern China. Snowfall is rare in China in winter.
