Transavia has few planes: mostly flights changed or canceled at 50,000 passengers

Due to the shortage of aircraft, Transavia will have to cancel or modify the trip to 50,000 passengers, says NOS. The airline will not be able to deploy six aircraft from its fleet in April and May, says De Volkskrant.

Four planes have to be grounded due to bureaucratic problems because there is no safety certification for the aircraft which Transavia leases from the Romanian airline Blue Air. Two aircraft are undergoing major maintenance and mechanics are awaiting parts from aircraft manufacturer Boeing. Because of this, the flight was rebooked for 42,000 of the affected travelers and travel was canceled for 8,000 people, notified on April 4.

According to European rules, travelers the whose flight is changed or canceled within two weeks before departure are entitled to compensation.
