[Domestic soccer / J-League news]Iwate Gruja Morioka announced on the 21st that Koki Mizuno, former Japanese national team midfielder who belonged to Hayabusa Eleven (Kanto 2nd division), will join.

Mizuno, now 37, started his professional career in 2004 with Jef United Chiba. He has seen his development under manager Ivica Osim and greatly increased his appearances in his second professional season. He scored a team-high nine goals in 2007 and made his debut for Japan in the same year.

In 2008, he moved to Scotland’s prestigious Celtic, but returned to the J League without the expected results. After that, he played seven clubs including Kashiwa Reysol, Ventforet Kofu, and Sagan Tosu, and from 2021 joined Yabusa Eleven, which was in the Kanagawa Prefectural Football League at the time.

Mizuno, who has returned to the J club for the first time in three seasons, talks about his aspirations through the club site as follows.
