Transforming Al-Nasr: CEO Guido Finga’s battle against chaos and self-interests

A special source revealed to Al-Riyadiya that the Italian Guido Finga, CEO of Al-Nasr Club, had come to the conclusion that the club had been living until recently in a state of administrative chaos, and that people surrounding the club were trying, in order to preserve special interests, to stop the transformation plan. Administrative management implemented by the Italian with the support of the company’s Board of Directors.
According to the source, Finja believes that he is facing an organized wave of leaks and false news, behind which these people stand, with the aim of disrupting it, and that they were not working for the club, but rather to achieve their personal and commercial interests by using the club for that.
Al-Nasr Company appointed the Italian CEO late last September, succeeding Ahmed Al-Ghamdi.
Finja was recently upset, according to the source, by the leak of news of dissatisfaction among those in charge of the club over his absence from the first team’s football match against Al-Ahly, before the current hiatus, and by news of his delay in hiring a sports director who holds Portuguese nationality.
The source pointed out that Finja was absent from the match, which ended with Al-Nassr’s 1-0 victory in the 24th round of the “Roshen” League, to attend a family funeral in his country.
Regarding the position of sporting director, the source revealed that the Portuguese candidate refused to come to the club, as he is not currently convinced to work outside the European football arena, stressing that the CEO will continue to search for a suitable sporting director.
Regarding how the CEO deals with those who he believes are working against him, the source reported that Finja uses his administrative authority to terminate the work of people he deems unsuitable, and his intention to continue what he considers to be a process of cleaning, transformation and change within Al-Nasr.
