The Flemish Community Commission (VGC) will transform the former Beobank headquarters, located between the VUB campus and Etterbeek train station, into a multi-purpose school campus which will host two Dutch-speaking secondary schools and community activities.

Minister Sven Gatz, in charge of Education and School Construction, announced this project during a press conference given on the Pleinlaan 1 site in Ixelles, in the old offices which are currently empty. No less than 1,150 additional places in Dutch-speaking secondary education will thus be created.

There will be a general course, but also a technical and professional sector. Then, the cutting-edge sports infrastructures will delight many sports clubs. Another interesting aspect of the project: the conversion of an unoccupied office building into a school campus enjoying a strategic location.

The project will be implemented by Befimmo, in collaboration with the Flemish Community Commission, in the form of a public-private partnership (PPP). In addition to the two secondary schools, the project will also include a theater hall, sports facilities and multi-purpose community spaces.
