Many disruptions are expected on Friday October 13 in France. The inter-union is in fact organizing a one-day strike. After the long social movement relating to the opposition against the pension reform, this time it is a strike “against austerity, for salaries and gender equality”, explains the press release dated August 28. In total, more than 200 mobilizations have been recorded on the 13october.fr site, with trade unionists coming from all over Europe. Rail and air transport
The three main railway union organizations, the CGT-Cheminots, SUD-Rail and the CFDT-Cheminots, and the Unsa-Ferroviaire, have announced their intention to strike, explains TF1 Info. National education, public service and health
The social movement should also affect National Education, with calls for strikes from the FSU-SNUipp (nursery and elementary schools) and the SNES-FSU (middle and high schools). More generally, many public sector bodies are expected to participate in this strike, notably catering and school activities staff.
In the field of health, all the unions representing private doctors have called a strike in order to obtain an increase in the price of consultations. A large number of general practitioners’ offices, and even specialists, should therefore be closed, while several unions have called for an “indefinite strike”. The inter-union of the health and medico-social sectors has also joined the movement.
