Travis Kelce has firmly planted roots back in his home state, quietly purchasing a historic, lakefront estate in Bratenahl, Ohio, for $5.35 million. According to reporting from The Wall Street Journal, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end closed on the sprawling property in March. The purchase occurred roughly four months before his high-profile wedding to pop icon Taylor Swift, marking a major milestone for the couple as they establish their domestic life together.
Inside Moyenage, the Gilded-Age Bratenahl Estate
Located just six miles northeast of downtown Cleveland, the roughly 21,000-square-foot brick residence is nicknamed “Moyenage.” Built in 1895 by Chicago-based architect Jarvis Hunt, the eight-bedroom, 11-bathroom mansion carries a rich local history. Past owners of the estate include a former president of the Sherwin-Williams Co. and a onetime executive director of Cleveland Clinic Innovations, as noted by the Encyclopedia of Cleveland History and News 5 Cleveland.
The property underwent significant modernization following a 2023 acquisition by Northeast Ohio renovation firm Figurati Construction Group, which purchased the estate for $1.95 million before listing it at $6.99 million. While the home has seen careful updates—including converting its original ballroom into an expansive game room and home theater, and turning its gatehouse into a two-bedroom guest cottage—it retains classic Gilded-Age architectural details like original fireplaces. Additional amenities across the expansive grounds include a media room, a five-car garage, and a swimming pool.
Real Estate Team and Local Reception in Northeast Ohio
David Ayers and Nick Zawitz of the Agency Cleveland managed both sides of the transaction. In a written statement obtained by News 5 Cleveland, the agents described the property as “a truly rare Great Lakes estate” that successfully blends historic preservation with modern updates. Real estate records related to the purchase were signed by Sam Totino, a partner with the Calfee law firm in Cleveland and leader of its sports and entertainment practice group.
Rumors regarding a potential Ohio real estate purchase by Kelce and Swift circulated for over a year prior to the sale. Bratenahl Mayor Keith Benjamin weighed in on the arrival of the high-profile residents to his village of roughly 1,400 people. “We take pride in being a welcoming community where people can feel connected to their lives and also feel comfortable enjoying their private lives,” Benjamin told News 5 Cleveland. “You know, part of being a good neighbor is offering a warm welcome and also giving people the privacy and the space to simply be at home — no matter who lives next door.”
Balancing Midwest Properties and New Beginnings
The Ohio megamansion is not the only notable property in Kelce’s real estate portfolio. He retains ownership of his $6 million Leawood, Kansas, property, which he purchased shortly after news of his relationship with Swift became public in 2023, and where he ultimately proposed to the singer in August 2025. The expansive square footage of the Bratenahl estate also offers plenty of room for the couple’s new Samoyed dog, Wendy.
