Treatment by a psychologist: This is how the health insurance company pays

The psychologist must be registered on the list of clinical psychologists of the Ministry of Health. 11,500 people are listed there.
The patient must have a mental illness.
A medical examination must have been carried out before the second treatment at the latest. With this confirmation, a maximum of ten treatment units are possible.

Cost allowance varies

The amount of reimbursement varies depending on the social security system. For example, at the Austrian Health Insurance Fund (ÖGK) the cost subsidy for a 60-minute individual therapy is currently 33.70 euros, at the social insurance for the self-employed (SVS) for an individual therapy (from 50 minutes) at 45 euros, at the insurance company for public servants, Railways and Mining (BVAEB) for individual therapy (from 50 minutes) at 46.60 euros. There is currently no specific legal regulation for online treatment.
