Trevor Bauer Suspension

Commissioner Robert D. Manfred announced Friday that following an extensive investigation by the MLB Department of Investigations, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer has been suspended for 324 games (representing two full seasons) without payment, as of today, for violating MLB’s Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy.

In accordance with the terms of the Policy, the Commissioner’s Office will not issue any further statements at this time.

The Dodgers released the following statement after Bauer’s suspension was announced:

“Today we were informed that MLB has concluded its investigation into the allegations made against Trevor Bauer, and the Commissioner has issued his decision regarding discipline. The Dodgers organization takes allegations of this nature seriously and does not condone or condone any act of domestic violence or sexual abuse. We have fully cooperated with MLB’s investigation since it began, and fully support MLB’s Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy and the Commissioner’s enforcement of the Policy. We understand that Trevor has the right to appeal the Commissioner’s decision. Therefore, we will not comment further until the process is over.”

After MLB’s decision was announced, Bauer said on his Twitter account that he will appeal the suspension.
