However, it has not yet been decided whether to merge the ‘perjury charge’ trial requested by Representative Lee.
According to the legal community, the Seoul Central District Court’s Criminal Agreement Division 33 (Chief Judge Kim Dong-hyun) made this decision yesterday (30th).
Accordingly, the Baekhyeon-dong case, which the prosecution indicted on the 12th, will be tried together with the Daejang-dong case, which has already been tried three times.
The prosecution requested that the two cases be merged at the time of indictment, saying that the two cases were committed by the same defendants while they were working in Seongnam City, and that the structure of the crime was similar in that they funneled development profits to brokers through real estate development corruption.
Since Representative Lee’s side also does not object, the court appears to have decided on the merger without a separate hearing.
The trial for the merged Daejang-dong and Baekhyeon-dong cases is scheduled to be held on the 3rd of next month.
