Tricolores hire North American – Jornal OPaís

North American baseman Anthony Nelson was hired for the men’s senior basketball team of Petro de Luanda, a club founded in 1980.

The information, which appears on the petroleum group’s page, does not make reference to the duration of the relationship between the parties or other inherent details.

This is the first of two foreign players that the tricolor team needs to compete in the current edition of the African Basketball League (BAL), that is, from the 9th to the 12th of March, in the city of Pretoria, in South Africa, as well as the final stage of the National Championship, known as UnitelBasket, season 2023/2024.

It should be noted that the 25-year-old athlete, 1.80, who was not drafted by the NBA in 2023, comes from South Kent High School.

In the oil formation, the North American will find it very difficult to prove his value, as he will have competition in the position of bases such as Childe Dundão and Gerson Domingos. The debut of the new acquisition might take place next Friday when Petro faces the Clube de Amigos de Basquetebol de Benguela (CABB), in the quarter-finals of the Angola Cup.

For this season, the road club also hired Angolans Edmir Lucas, Clésio Castro and Kenneth Manuel. Remember that Petro de Luanda is the holder of the title, as well as the Angola Cup trophy.
