A Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) would be preparing to start the experimental production of 2nm chips that should incorporate an advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) system to improve the results.
According to the most recent reports reported by the website Gizmochina, the use of AI system seeks to increase energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions and accelerate the experimental production mechanism of 2 nm chips.
Industry experts point out that major players in the technology market, such as Apple it’s at NVIDIAwill be among TSMC’s first customers after the start of mass production of 2nm chips, solidifying its lead over competitors such as Samsung e Intel.
TSMC declined to comment on rumors about its activities. However, the company emphasized that the development of 2nm chip technology is progressing smoothly, with mass production expected to start in 2025.
Sources revealed that TSMC has reportedly dispatched engineers to its research and development plant to start preparations for trial production of the 2nm chips. The company plans to assemble a dedicated team of more than 1,000 specialists.
The goal for this year is to carry out the experimental production of almost a thousand pieces. TSMC’s 2nm technology is expected to leverage a new chip architecture that promises very significant performance improvements compared to 3nm technology.
