“Tsunami” Omicron sweeps Lebanon .. and an Indian receives 11 doses of vaccine

The statistics of Corona injuries around the world continued to escalate, and the Omicron mutator contributed to supplying the infection counter, due to the speed of its spread, and more than 301 million cases of the virus were recorded globally.

The world is witnessing protests in several regions, rejecting the return of movement restrictions, after the outbreak of the Omicron strain, and confrontations took place between the police and demonstrators in the Austrian capital, Vienna.

Vienna witnessed a demonstration of more than 40,000 people who gathered in the historic Heldenplatz square in Vienna, and raised banners that read: “No to compulsory vaccination”, “Lift the restrictions”, “Early elections”, and the like.

Omicron tsunami in Lebanon

The Lebanese Minister of Health, Firas Al-Abyad, said that the infections of the Corona virus, Omicron, in the country, are turning into a “tsunami.”

The Minister of Health said that “the wave of the Omicron mutant that started three weeks ago in Lebanon is turning into a tsunami.”

He added, “The situation in hospitals and intensive care units remains stable, and work is being done to enhance the absorptive capacity,” without further details.

Japan injury meter jump

The number of coronavirus infections in the Japanese capital, Tokyo, has increased nearly 15 times in the past week.
In a statement, Tokyo Prefecture said that 1,224 cases of the virus were diagnosed in the last 24 hours, while the number of infected people reached only 79 last Saturday.

According to the Japanese Kyodo News Agency, the increase in the number of infected people in a week is about 15 times, which is an indication that the capital is witnessing the sixth wave of the virus outbreak.

Injured child locked up in car trunk

US police have arrested a teacher, who locked her son, who has corona, in the trunk of a car to protect herself from exposure to the virus while she was heading to a site to take smears for the Corona virus, local media reported.

Sarah Beam, 41, has been charged with child endangerment.

A witness called police after hearing someone in the trunk of a car in Harris County, Texas, according to a local website.

The teacher then opened the trunk lid to reveal a boy lying inside.

Beam said her 13-year-old son had tested positive for coronavirus, and that she was taking him to the Bridgetown stadium site for another swab test to confirm the result, local media said.

An Indian receives 11 doses of the vaccine

An Indian health ministry official said a man had received more than eight doses of coronavirus vaccines over the past year.

Brahmidu Mandal, who is 65, says he received 11 doses of Corona vaccines in Bihar.

The man, who retired from his postal job, said the doses helped him get rid of aches and headaches, and to keep him “in good health”. He added that he did not suffer from any side effects.

An investigation is underway to find out how Mandal managed to receive so many doses.

“We did find evidence that he was given eight doses from four places,” said Amarendra Pratap Shahi, a civil surgeon in Madhepura district.
