Tunisian Airlines CEO Khaled Chelli said that the company intends to lay off about 1,000 of its employees within two or three years, starting in 2022, as part of plans to ease financial difficulties at the state-owned airline.
Tunisair has recorded annual losses since the 2011 revolution, which led to calls for its restructuring.
“The company will return to its normal place and overcome difficulties through the enhancement of its fleet and an ambitious reform program,” Al-Sheli said during the reception of the A320neo.
