Tunisia and Burkina Faso sign 8 cooperation agreements in various fields

Tunisia – Tunisia and Burkina Faso signed 8 cooperation agreements in various fields, most notably industry, tourism and traditional industries.

This signing took place during the closing session of the eighth session of the joint committee between the two countries, which was held in the Burkinabe capital, Ouagadougou, on Monday and Tuesday, according to a statement by the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The ministry said that Tunisian Foreign Minister Nabil Ammar and his Burkinabe counterpart Karamoko Jean-Marie Traore signed 8 cooperation agreements on Tuesday evening.

These areas include, according to the ministry, “investment, industry, tourism, traditional industries, vocational training, family, women, childhood, the elderly, youth and sports.”

The two ministers welcomed “the results emerging from the committee’s work, which will contribute to enriching the legal framework between the two countries and provide new and promising opportunities for fruitful cooperation,” according to the statement.

This is the first meeting of the Tunisian-Burkina Faso Joint Committee since 2016, and the economic forum between the two countries was organized on the sidelines of its eighth session.

Ammar welcomed the “holding of the Tunisian-Burkina Faso Economic Forum, its outcomes, and the significant participation in its work by both sides.”

The forum was attended by 10 Tunisian businessmen, including Samir Majoul, head of the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (the employers’ union), along with 90 businessmen from Burkina Faso, according to the Foreign Ministry.
