The Tunisian police arrested the leader of the Brotherhood’s Ennahda Party, Noureddine al-Buhairi, who held the position of Minister of Justice in the government of Hammadi al-Jabali between 2011 and 2013, then became a minister accredited to the Prime Minister in the government of Ali al-Areedh between 2013 and 2014.
“The police stormed Noureddine al-Buhairi’s house, assaulted his wife and arrested him,” the Archyde.com news agency quoted lawyer Samir Dilo, without providing further details..
Within two days, the police carried out a campaign of arrests, including prominent politicians and a businessman with strong influence, on suspicion of plotting against state security.
