Tunisia through Sri Lanka; Acute fuel shortage; misery | tunisia | manorama news | Srilanka

Tunisia and Sri Lanka in the fuel crisis. The shortage of petrol and diesel in the country has become extreme. Even if you stand in front of petrol pumps for hours, you cannot get fuel.

The fuel crisis has worsened after the labor union warned that the country’s fuel reserves would last for a week. According to official figures, daily production of petroleum products in Tunisia is 35,000 barrels and consumption is 90,000 barrels. That means the production has reduced to one-third of the demand. With this, there is a long queue of vehicles at the petrol stations, including in the capital, Tansila. More than two million people were affected by the fuel shortage. It is reported that the reserves of petroleum products have reached below the specified limit. Experts say that the financial crisis has affected the import of petroleum products. But the government denied this. The government is of the view that the problem in the international supply chain is the cause of the crisis. The country’s public sector oil distribution company reached its maximum operating capacity this week to address the crisis. The Ministry of Petroleum has informed that sufficient fuel will be available in the coming days.
