Turkey-Syria earthquake: death toll passes 24,000

Ankara| The death toll from the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria has exceeded 24,000. After the 7.8 magnitude earthquake, more than 100 aftershocks were reported in Turkey and Syria. It also included an aftershock of magnitude 7.5. The official estimate is that the number of injured in both countries is close to 80,768. It is reported that the death toll will rise in Turkey and Syria.
According to reports, trucks carrying the second phase of UN aid have arrived in northwest Syria. The aid arrived after the Bab Al Hawa crossing. This includes tents, blankets and food items.

The first aid was delivered on Thursday. The World Food Program has called for more emergency aid to be sent to Syria.
