His Excellency Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of Turkey, received His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in Istanbul. His Highness conveyed to His Excellency, during the meeting, the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him”, and his wishes for the Turkish Republic’s development and prosperity. For his part, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan conveyed his greetings to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him”, and his wishes for the UAE continued progress and prosperity. During the meeting, the President of the Republic of Turkey reiterated his condolences to the UAE leadership, government and people on the death of the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, and his wishes for the UAE prosperity and prosperity under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State “God save him”.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and paths of joint cooperation between the two countries in all fields that serve their mutual interests and benefit their peoples.
The two sides also discussed the situation in the region and the importance of strengthening efforts to consolidate peace, security and stability there. They also exchanged views on developments on the regional and international arenas, including the crisis in Ukraine.
During the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the keenness of the UAE, with the support and patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him”, to enhance prospects for bilateral cooperation with Turkey, and to work together to consolidate the pillars of security and stability in the region.
