Dubai: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the establishment of a Palestinian state is indispensable for sustainable peace in the region. He stated this before the world leaders while speaking on the second day of the ongoing World Government Summit in Dubai.

Every incident that is not resolved amicably remains a problem. If Israel wants permanent peace in the region, it must end the settlement expansion and recognize the existence of a Palestinian state. “Every step taken will be incomplete until an independent, sovereign and geographically integrated Palestinian state is established within the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital,” Erdogan said.

He also called on the countries of the world to continue donating to the United Nations agency for Palestine refugees. The recent attacks on the agency are unfortunate. He added that it is the lifeline of 6 million refugees in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine.

Government representatives of 120 countries and 25 national leaders are participating in the 11th World Government Summit. India, Qatar and Turkey are the guest countries this time. 85 international and regional organizations are also part of the summit.

This year, the summit has been prepared in an elaborate manner, with 110 debates, speeches by 200 global speakers, participation of 300 ministers and 4000 delegates.
