THE Turkish government says Israel has blocked the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip by air. Ankara promised to give a serious response to Tel Aviv’s disgraceful attitude.

“Today, we learned that our request was rejected by Israel. There is no reason for Israel to obstruct our efforts to deliver aid by air to the starving citizens of the Gaza Strip,” said Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

According to him, Türkiye decided to take a series of new actions against Israel. He added that this action would be published by the relevant institutions.

Fidan said Ankara’s retaliation approved by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, a vocal supporter of the Palestinian cause, would be implemented step by step and without delay.

“These measures will be implemented until Israel announces a ceasefire and allows humanitarian aid to reach the Gaza Strip without stopping,” he said

In addition, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a video statement, Monday (8/4), said the ground invasion of Rafah was crucial for his country’s victory.

“It will happen. There is a date,” Netanyahu said without elaborating.

He spoke as Israeli negotiators were in Cairo discussing international efforts to broker a ceasefire agreement with Hamas.

The cruelty of Israeli troops has claimed the lives of 33,207 Gazans and injured 75,933 others since the invasion began on October 7. Some 1,170 Israelis were killed and 250 taken hostage, according to Israeli data, and 132 others remain missing. (France24/Z-1)
