Turmeric: Harnessing the Power for Brain Health, Inflammation, and More!

Turmeric is a nutritious spice to consume that has been traditionally used in Chinese medicine to treat inflammation, skin diseases, wounds, digestive ailments and liver conditions, today it is also consumed to recover brain cells.

According to a study published in the journal Stem Cell Research & Therapy, a bioactive compound found in turmeric promotes the proliferation and differentiation of stem cells in the brain. The findings suggest that aromatic turmerone might be a possible future drug for the treatment of neurological disorders, such as stroke and Alzheimer’s disease.

The study examined the effects of aromatic turmerone (ar-turmerone) on endogenous neutral stem cells (NSCs), which are the stem cells found within adult brains.
