TVS Motor Names Peyman Kargar as CEO to Succeed K N Radhakrishnan in 2027

India’s TVS Motor Company has announced that Peyman Kargar will take over as its next Chief Executive Officer starting January 27, 2027. Kargar will succeed K N Radhakrishnan, who has held the role since 2008.

The leadership handoff comes at a pivotal moment for the firm. TVS is currently cementing its standing in a fiercely contested domestic market while scaling up its electric vehicle lineup and expanding its global footprint. Radhakrishnan will remain at the helm until January 2027. Following that, he will serve as a non-executive director through the company annual general meeting in July 2027, according to regulatory filings.

A Global Automotive Veteran Stepping Up

Kargar brings more than three decades of international automotive experience spanning Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Before joining TVS Motor as President of International Business in March 2025, he served as Global Chairman and President of Infiniti, Nissan’s luxury brand. His extensive resume also includes leading the Datsun brand across more than 80 countries and managing substantial operations for the Renault Group.

Chairman Sudarshan Venu expressed confidence in the incoming leadership. As President of International Business, Kargar has already made a meaningful contribution to the business, Venu noted in a public statement, adding that Kargar is the right person to strengthen the company position among the world leading mobility companies.

Under Kargar’s watch, the international division has blossomed into a vital growth engine for the firm. Overseas sales volume now accounts for 29 percent of the company total, expanding at a robust 33 percent rate, according to corporate disclosures.

Navigating a Competitive Two-Wheeler Landscape

The appointment signals a deliberate push toward international markets and accelerated product innovation, premiumisation, and expansion in developed markets. TVS has steadily gained ground in the domestic premium motorcycle segment while fortifying its EV portfolio.

Shares of TVS Motor traded slightly lower following the announcement, hovering around 4,376.5 rupees, reflecting routine market adjustments rather than turbulence over the boardroom shift.

Looking Ahead to 2027

With nearly a year and a half before Kargar officially steps into the CEO role, Radhakrishnan leaves behind a legacy of steady, long-term growth.
