TweetDeck “breaks” after Twitter adds post limit

Last Saturday (7/1), the billionaire Elon Musk announced that the Twitter would start to limit the number of tweets that its users can see per day to 6,000 in the case of subscribers of Twitter Blue and to 600 in the case of accounts unverified, which caused a lot of controversy. It didn’t take long and that limit was soon expanded to 10.000 e 1.000 tweetsrespectively — which did not prevent the flood of criticism and memes about the change.

It turns out, as noted by TechCrunchin addition to affecting the experience of users who usually browse the social network through the app and Twitter’s web page, this limit is also breaking the TweetDeckthe platform’s official client that lets you follow multiple timelines in real time.

Tweetdeck… I don’t know, guys. I used to like Elon, but it’s just getting weirder.

According to user reports, TweetDeck is simply no longer able to load entire columns of tweets or even deliver notifications. Other people even said that the column “Home” of the client is even managing to display new tweets, but the others only appear with the message “Loading…”.

As noted by the engineer Molly White, after a few minutes open, TweetDeck starts to display a sequence of “404” errors. Twitter Blue subscribers using the client are experiencing these issues as well, worth noting.

Since TweetDeck loads posts in multiple columns at once, it’s possible for client users to hit the post limit set by Twitter even faster. Before increasing the limit to 10,000/1,000 tweets per day, Musk promised, also last Saturday, that he would expand it to 8,000/800 – which reveals a certain inconsistency on the part of the former CEO.

TweetDeck, it is worth remembering, even had an official app for Macs, which was discontinued a year ago. Shortly thereafter, rumors that the client would become exclusive to Twitter Blue subscribers began to emerge — something that has not yet happened.

And you, did you notice any of these problems out there?
