The new machines, made up of 10 tractors and 10 trailers, cost more than 779 million FCFA. These latest generation YT193 and RT223 tractors, equipped with mobile terminals and connected to the Navis 4 operating system, will make it possible efficiencies in container yard operations and boost terminal productivity. The acquisition of its new equipment responds to the investment plan put in place by Congo Terminal, which has to date invested more than 250 billion FCFA (400 million euros) to modernize the container terminal both in terms of infrastructure and equipment. “The investments made at the Port of Pointe-Noire have enabled us to increase our volumes and improve our production rates. We are continuing our investments in the acquisition of new equipment to be in line with the increasingly increasing volumes that we are now facing,” explained Anthony SAMZUN, Managing Director of Congo Terminal. Congo Terminal is also expecting the delivery of two new RTG gantry cranes by the end of the first half and two STS quay gantries during 2023. This is the sixth order for rolling stock since the start of the concession in 2009. .
