Lahore: At least 22 people have been killed in a freezing cold in Muri, a mountain tourist destination in Pakistan. Travelers in vehicles stranded on a mountain road in heavy snowfall are doomed. The dead included 9 children.

Muri is a tourist destination located in the Rawalpindi District of the Punjab Province of Pakistan, at a distance of 64 km from Islamabad. Thousands of vehicles have been stranded in the snow since last night. Traffic jams intensified as tourists flocked to see the snowfall. Troops rushed to the scene and rescued the victims.

Pakistan Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bashar has said that steps have been taken to provide relief to those stranded in the city, including accommodation. Roads to the site were closed until 9 p.m. Hundreds of thousands of people have flocked here in recent days due to the snowfall.
