A little over six months following its spectacular takeover by Elon Musk, the richest man in the world’s Twitter devotes the model of paid social networks. “From Instagram to Discord via LinkedIn, many of its competitors now make subscriptions to verify the identity of accounts,” notes Diego Ferri, director of strategy at EY Fabernovel.
But none, not even Meta’s brand new Threads service, go as far as the blue bird social network. Paced with thunderous announcements, often from Elon Musk’s own Twitter account, the transformation of the public discussion platform is proving more and more radical.
