Twitter enables cryptocurrency and stock trading

Twitter is allowing users to view market charts and buy and sell stocks and cryptocurrencies through a new partnership with eToro.

A According to CNBC Twitter will introduce features that allow users to trade stocks, cryptocurrencies and other assets through the eToro social trading app. The store is created as part of Elon Musk’s plan to turn the bluebird application into a so-called make a great app.

Twitter already has a feature that allows users to view a company’s market data. The user needs to search for a stock’s ticker and paste a dollar sign in front of it. For example: $TSLA

However, with the new partnership, users can also trade a specific financial instrument by clicking the “View on eToro” button.

Yoni Assia, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of eToro said:

“As we’ve grown tremendously over the past three years, we’ve seen more and more user interaction on Twitter [és] more and more people were educating themselves about the markets. There is very high quality, real-time content about financial analysis of companies and what is happening in the world. We believe this partnership will allow us to reach these new audiences [és] we’re better connecting the Twitter and eToro brands.”

After Elon Musk bought Twitter last year, he said that he would turn the social media app into an all-knowing super app that offers services such as decentralized social media, micropayments, gaming, food delivery, or even shopping through a single app.

Twitter also teamed up with a shell company called X Corp. to build an artificial intelligence (AI) project for Twitter, according to an April 4 announcement.
