Emma Stockinger is moving from the BBU to the German youth Bundesliga, Ella Burns wants to assert herself in the USA.

The women’s basketball team at BBU Salzburg presented themselves as strong as never before last season. They finished the regular season of the 2nd Bundesliga in second place, in the final tournament they had to settle for fourth place, weakened by injury-related absences.

With Emma Stockinger and Ella Burns showed two 16-year-old homegrown talents in particular. Both left the club in the summer to try their luck abroad. Stockinger moved to the Bavarian club Munich East, for which she will go hunting in the youth Bundesliga (WNBL). In addition, she should play for the regional league team, which is aiming for promotion to the second Bundesliga. “I’m expecting a lot of games and training sessions at a high level, where I can learn a lot. Munich will give me more opportunities to develop myself over the next few years,” explains the defensive player.

Teammate Burns is moving to the United States, where she will be playing at McCallum High School in Austin, Texas next season. There she wants to make the leap into the varsity team, which is fighting for the state championship title. “This is my next big milestone. I’m really looking forward to the challenges,” says the winger. “They will leave a huge gap,” says the BBU women’s coach Kenan Biberovic.
