Two employees of ANAF – one from the Alexandria Regional Anti-Fraud Fiscal Directorate, the other from the Bucharest Regional Anti-Fraud Fiscal Directorate – were sent to court for crimes of fraud and forgery after they used forged diplomas to promote themselves in positions.

In the case of the Teleorman employee, the transfer to a higher position was not made, as the human resources officials noticed that the submitted diploma was fake. Instead, the employee of ANAF Bucharest illegally collected 189,536 lei using false education documents to promote to the position, writes news.ro.
The official from the Bucharest Regional Antifraud Fiscal Directorate was referred to justice under the charges of continuous fraud and continuous forgery after, in the last three years, he used a fake diploma, claiming to be a graduate of ASE Bucharest.
“During 03.12.2020 – June 2023, at different time intervals, but on the basis of the same criminal resolution, the defendant misled the civil servants from the General Anti-Fiscal Fraud Directorate – Energy Products Control Coordination Service, Import – Export Customs Operations Directorate and Excise Products, on the occasion of formulating the request for transfer to the vacant public execution position of inspector class I higher professional degree within the General Directorate of Anti-Fiscal Fraud-Regional Directorate of Anti-Fiscal Fraud Bucharest, by presenting as true the false circumstance that he holds the title of economist, graduate of the Faculty of Economics and Management of Agricultural and Food Production, within the Academy of Economic Studies, class of 2001, using forged official documents as fraudulent means, respectively the license diploma supposed to be issued by the Ministry of National Education and the supposed “Duplicate” license diploma to be issued by the Ministry of Education and Research, in order to obtain unfair patrimonial benefits, representing salary income related to the position in which he requested the transfer, with the consequence of producing a damage in the total amount of 189,536 lei, representing improperly collected net income”, it is stated in the documents of the prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the 1st District Court, who handled this file.
The second defendant tried to promote himself to a higher position within the Alexandria Tax Fraud Directorate, using a forged diploma and claiming to be a graduate of a private university. He failed to graduate, as the employees from human resources had suspicions about the veracity of the degree. The official is being investigated for attempted fraud and instigation to use forgery.
“On 08.07.2022, on the occasion of formulating a request for transfer to the public position of inspector class I, higher professional grade within the General Anti-Fraud Fiscal Directorate – Regional Anti-Fraud Fiscal Directorate 3 Alexandria, the defendant tried to mislead the officials public from the General Anti-Fiscal Fraud Directorate-Regional Anti-Fiscal Fraud Directorate 3 Alexandria, by presenting as true the false fact that the defendant holds the title of economist, graduate of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, from the Dimitrie Cantemir Christian University Bucharest, in the field of Business Administration , specializing in Business Management, 2004 graduation, using as fraudulent means forged official documents, respectively the license diploma supposed to be issued on October 16, 2005 by the Ministry of Education, Research and Youth, and the supplement to the license diploma, in order to obtain patrimonial benefits, represented by the salary due to the position in which he requested the transfer, without causing any damage, as public servants from the human resources department notified the false nature of the submitted documents”, informs, on Thursday, the prosecutors of the Public Prosecutor’s Office near the District Court 1.
Between July and September 2022, he caused a third party to submit the fake diploma at the end of September 2022, on his behalf, to the National Agency for Fiscal Administration – Directorate of Organization and Human Resources.
The case in which the two officials are under criminal investigation will be tried at the Bucharest District Court 1
