Two container ships collided on the river in Can Gio district

The accident occurred on the Long Tau river in An Hoa hamlet, Tam Thon Hiep commune, Can Gio district (HCMC) this morning (February 11), causing two container ships to be damaged.

Around 5 am on 11/2, the ship WAN HAI 288 carrying many containers moved on the Long Tau river towards Saigon port when it collided with the RESURGENCE ship moving in the direction of Vung Tau.

The incident did not cause any loss of life, but caused the ship RESURGENCE to be dented in the bow, while the ship WAN HAI 288 suffered a tear on the port side.

After the accident happened, the police arrived to deal with it.

At noon on the same day, a representative of the HCMC Maritime Administration said that the vessel RESURGENCE has been towed to Saigon port, while the vessel WAN HAI 288 is anchored at the scene. The Port Authority of Ho Chi Minh City is handling the case.
