Tragic accident at work in Oberkirch: Two people die after falling in Güllenloch
On a farm in Oberkirch, two men fell into a cesspool on Saturday afternoon for reasons that are still unknown. They could only be recovered dead.
The tragic accident at work happened at 3:25 p.m., as the Lucerne police wrote in a statement on Saturday evening. A 31-year-old was working at a cesspool on a farm in Oberkirch. For reasons that are still unclear, he fell into the manure hole. His 32-year-old brother, who hurried over, wanted to help the casualty and fell into the pit himself. The two men could only be rescued dead by the emergency services after the manure first had to be pumped out.
In addition to the police and the rescue service 144, a rescue helicopter, the fire brigade, the official office and a care team were also on site.
The investigation is being conducted by the Sursee public prosecutor’s office. (dvm)
