On what was a great day of celebration for Spilamberto, with the influx of many people for the closing of the Mast Cot initiative, unfortunately a serious road accident occurred.
In fact, around 2.30 pm, two women were hit by a car while they were crossing the Northern Ring Road. It happened at the pedestrian crossing located near the Via Giarole intersection, in the cemetery area.
The two friends, aged 87 and 84, were violently thrown onto the asphalt after colliding with a car traveling along Via Circonvallazione, which was in turn driven by a man over eighty. Ambulances and medical vehicles attended the scene: the two women suffered serious injuries and are hospitalized in Intensive Care at Baggiovara Hospital.
The investigations were carried out by the Local Police, who also closed the road to traffic with the support of the Carabinieri.
