Two people are arrested after driver robbery in Iztapalapa; there was a chase and shooting

Police of Mexico City two men arrested by rob a driver con a firearm in the Iztapalapa mayor’s office.

According to police reports, two men aboard a motorcycle stripped a motorist of his belongings on Eje 6, in the San José Aculco neighborhood. These subjects threatened him with a firearm and after carrying out the robbery, they fled.

The victim requested help from the Transit police of the Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC), who carried out the persecution of those involved.

The alleged thieves, noticing the presence of the uniformed men, made detonations, which was repelled by the police.

After repelling the aggression and catching up with those involved, the officers secured a short firearm with six useful cartridges, a motorcycle and more than 11,000 pesos in cash.

One of the detainees was injured, for which reason paramedics who attended diagnosed him with an injury to his right arm and he was transferred under custody to a hospital to receive medical attention.

The detainees and the insured objects were made available to the corresponding Public Ministry agent, where the investigations will be followed up.

On the other hand, the SSC announced that the detainee who was injured is related to an assault with a knife in the streets of the Álvaro Obregón mayor’s office, on December 16, 2021.
