Madrid’s emergency services official, Montessey Marcos, told reporters that two people who had received care from the city’s emergency services had died.

The mayor of the Spanish capital, Jose Luis Martinez Almeida, who visited the site of the accident today, pointed out that the two victims are an employee of the restaurant and a customer.

Twelve people were injured in the fire that broke out in the restaurant located in western Madrid, six of whom were transferred in serious condition to various hospitals in Madrid.
