Two Belgians crashed aboard a microlight this Friday in Portugal, indicates CM Newspaper. They had just taken off from Ponte de Sor aerodrome when the ultra-light craft encountered problems. It was around 11 a.m. After flying just a few kilometers, it crashed near the Montargil dam.

According to the Portuguese media, the two Belgians, aged 32 and 39, are seriously injured. Emergency services rushed to the scene en masse, including by helicopter. The causes of the accident are still under investigation.

Ponte de Sor aerodrome is currently hosting the aeronautical event “Portugal Air Summit”, but the accident had nothing to do with this event. It was a private flight, according to the airport.
