Grasshopper signed attacking midfielder Meritan Shabani and center forward Renat Dadashov. Both players come from English club Wolverhampton Wanderers. They signed 2-year contracts.
Meritan Shabani (23), from Bayern Munich’s youth movement, played a few matches in the Bundesliga in 2018. Last season, he played with Wolverhampton’s U23 team. He’s been training with the Grasshoppers for three weeks.
Dadashov (23) was also trained in Germany. The Azerbaijani striker with a German passport played in the junior movements of Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt. The 1.86m centre-forward came to Grasshopper two years ago, but a cruciate ligament injury left him on the sidelines for most of the Challenge League season. Last season, he played for Portuguese 1st division club Tondely (30 matches).
