Two selfie cameras, and one of them is 50MP

Vivo’s mid-range V series of phones tend to focus on the selfie experience, with previous entries offering features like 44MP cameras and even LED flash modules. Now the company has announced the Vivo V23 and V23 Pro, continuing this tradition of prioritizing selfies.

The two phones share a number of features, starting with selfie cameras. Expect to find a 50MP main selfie camera on both devices (supporting 4K video and autofocus), accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide snapper for group shots and similar situations.

Other notable common features include a 90Hz FHD + OLED display with a notch, the same secondary rear cameras (8MP ultra wide and 2MP macro), 44W wired charging, and color-changing fluorite AG glass in the frames. gold or black color. Speaking of design, the phones are also just under 7.4mm thick and weigh less than 180 grams.

The phones also have identical RAM / storage credentials, available in 8GB / 128GB or 12GB / 256GB versions.

Vivo V23 series: how are they different?

Vivo’s most expensive model offers a Dimensity 1200 SoC which should deliver mid to high-end performance. In comparison, the vanilla model offers a Dimensity 920 chipset that broadly matches that of the Snapdragon 765G.

The V23 Pro also offers a 4,300mAh battery and a 6.56-inch curved display, while the standard V23 offers a 4,200mAh battery and a 6.44-inch flat screen display.

Moving on to the camera scope, the two phones share secondary rear cameras but differ when it comes to the primary lens. Expect a 108 MP main camera (Isocell HM2, 0.7 micron pixel) on the Pro variant and a 64 MP primary shooter on the standard V23. It’s also worth noting that the Pro variant supports 4K / 60fps selfie video while the Vanilla V23 tops out at 4K / 30fps.

Vivo V23 series pricing and availability

It appears Vivo is aiming for greater availability with these new phones than its 2021 flagships. The company said the phone will gradually be released in more than 50 markets, starting today. The first wave of countries will be India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, with APAC, Europe and the Middle East markets receiving phones “in the next few months.”

Expect to pay a starting price of Rs 38,990 (~ $ 524) for the Vivo V23 Pro in India and Rs 29,990 (~ $ 403) for the standard V23.
