By Friday afternoon, August 14, 2026, the szef MSWiA, Marcin Kierwiński, took to the platform X to announce that Poznań police had successfully apprehended the first of the two female suspects. According to Dziennik Gazeta Prawna, Kierwiński stated: “Zero tolerance for aggression and hate!” Approximately an hour after the initial arrest, the szef MSWiA confirmed that the second suspect had also been taken into custody by local officers.
The footage showed one of the women approaching two Ukrainian men, insulting them, and spitting onto one of them. The attacker then upended a nearby restaurant patio umbrella, hit one of them, and screamed: “wy… do Ukrainy, szmato”.
