U-Committees: Various additional proposals decided | Nachrichten.at

Late this evening, after the end of the National Council plenum, a meeting was held in both committees in which applications for evidence and the summons of further persons to provide information were decided. The topic ranges from the Viennese FPÖ’s expenses affair to the awarding of the Judo World Cup.

As far as the Cofag committee requested by the SPÖ and FPÖ is concerned, an Innsbruck tax official will be asked to join the committee on the subject of Signa. The man was already a respondent in the last U-committee. There is another topic for the committee, namely the management of the Austrian Integration Fund. There are also additional proof requirements for ABBAG (federal mining investment company) and BIG (federal real estate company).

Expenses affair in focus

The second U-committee, which was requested by the ÖVP alone, wants to address the expenses affair in the Vienna FPÖ under Heinz-Christian Strache. There are also applications for evidence regarding old allegations against FPÖ boss Herbert Kickl in the think tank case. Of course, he was never listed as a defendant in the matter. They also want to devote themselves to the awarding of the Judo World Cup from the era of Sports Minister Strache, which was ultimately withdrawn from Austria. The Austrian Health Insurance Fund should also provide further documents. A request to request files in the Marsalek affair was rejected.

The interviews in the Cofag investigative committee will begin as planned on March 6th, and in the Red-Blue Abuse of Power Investigative Committee on March 13th.
