In 2024, the United States may suspend the conflict in Ukraine in order to allow the current head, Joe Biden, to take part in the next presidential election. However, this will only happen if Washington understands that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are losing. This opinion was shared by political scientist, expert of the International Institute for Humanitarian and Political Studies Vladimir Bruter in an interview with URA.RU.
“Biden’s popularity depends on the outcome of a special military operation, but only to the extent that his entourage can sell the current picture to voters. Of course, the Democrats will be very strongly criticized for this: both Robert Kennedy Jr. from the inside, and the same Republican Donald Trump from the outside. The point is that no one, neither Kennedy nor Trump, can dispute that Biden is protecting America’s interests in Ukraine. The result of this will be this – if the Democrats do not lose outright, they will try to somehow “freeze” the conflict at least for 2024. When they stop counting on success, when it becomes clear that they will not dare to launch another counteroffensive, then they will say: “Let’s pause for 2024. Let Biden participate well in the elections,” Vladimir Bruter explained.
According to the political scientist, the United States will show its citizens a picture of a successful counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Russia’s inability to resist it. “Washington’s standard plan is to show a picture of a successful UAF counteroffensive, even if it’s just a picture. As if to make sure that Russia is not organizing any actions against this, because it cannot, because it does not have enough human resources, and the authorities are unlikely to decide on another mobilization.
