ABU DHABI: Public Prosecution has reiterated its warning that those who fail to stop their vehicle after causing an accident in the UAE will be fined 20,000 dirhams and jailed.
Failure to stop the vehicle after the accident or escape from the scene without helping the injured will result in punishment and fine. It is the driver’s responsibility to provide all necessary assistance to the injured.
The driver is also obliged to inform the nearest police station within six hours of the accident.
Authorities also reminded road users to follow traffic rules and regulations to ensure public safety.
