UAE’s Ducab wins engineering and construction contract for Al Dhafra plant

The Ducab Group of the United Arab Emirates announced that it had obtained a full EPC contract for the supply and installation of high-voltage cables with a capacity of 400 kV and its accessories to connect Al Dhafra Solar Power Plant In Abu Dhabi in the main network of “TRANSCO”.

The contract also includes covering the testing and commissioning operations of the project. It is noteworthy that Taqa and Masdar own 60% of the Al Dhafra solar project, while EDF Renewable Energy and Jinco Power own the remaining share, and the plant’s production capacity is scheduled to reach the electricity to 2 gigawatts, and contribute to reducing carbon emissions by about 2.4 million tons annually.

In an interview with Al Arabiya, Mohammed Al Mutawa, CEO of Ducab Group, said that “Ducab” is an Emirati company owned equally between ADQ Holding Company and IDC.

Al-Mutawa explained that the Ducab Group has expanded globally in exporting its products from 45 to 55 countries.

He pointed out that Ducab is providing the Al Dhafra project with high voltage cable solutions.
