STORRS, Conn. – The UConn Huskies fell to Boston College by a final of 2-1 in their home opener at Toscano Family Ice Forum. With the loss, the Huskies fall to 1-2-1 overall and 0-2 in Hockey East Action. Freshman Livvy Dewar scored the lone goal for the Huskies.

UConn opened the scoring against the Eagles only seven minutes in as Livvy Dewar took the loose puck in front of the net and made one move to beat the goaltender and net her fist career goal. The Huskies defense and junior goaltender Tia Chan were steady throughout the first period, holding Boston College scoreless and entering the period break with the lead.

Boston College bounced back in the second period scoring two unanswered goals. The first goal scored by the Eagles came shorthanded as Julia Pellerin collected the loose puck at the blue line and was able to beat Tia Chan on the breakaway. The Huskies had two opportunities in the second period to retake the lead however the UConn power play was unsuccessful. Late in the second period, Boston College took the 2-1 lead and was able to enter the period break in front.

The Huskies looked to tie the game in the final frame, but goaltender Grace Campbell made multiple stops to blank the Huskies. UConn will return to action October 20 and 21 as they welcome the New Hampshire Wildcats to Storrs for a two-game series. Puck drop is scheduled for 6pm on Friday and 3:00pm on Saturday and can be streamed live on ESPN+.
