CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Minister Udayanidhi Stalin mockingly dismissed the threats leveled against him after the controversy of likening Sanatana Dharma to an epidemic. Udayanidhi responded that he is the grandson of the person who was ready to sacrifice his life for Tamil Nadu.

Uttar Pradesh’s Paramahamsa Acharya announced a reward of Rs 10 crore for those who kill Udayanidhi. Udayanidhi replied that a comb costing just 10 rupees was enough to comb his hair. The minister’s security has been beefed up as the threat is high. More police were deployed in front of the residence in Chennai.

Case should be filed: 262 eminent persons to Supreme Court

New Delhi ∙ A letter to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court has been requested to register a case against Tamil Nadu Minister and Chief Minister MK Stalin’s son Udayanidhi Stalin who made remarks against Sanatana Dharma. The letter says that he tried to cause trouble in the society by giving hate speech and was not willing to apologize on the matter. Since the Supreme Court’s order to take strict action against hate speech has not been followed, there is a demand to file a voluntary case.

14 judges including K. Sridhar Rao, SM Soni, RS Rathore, MC Garg, retired from various High Courts and 130 civil servants including former Rajya Sabha Secretary General Yogendra Narain, former Foreign Secretary Kanwal Sibal and UP DGP Prakash Singh. The letter is signed.
