UEFA grants exemption to European clubs regarding professional players in Russia and Ukraine

Zurich – Archyde.com

The European Football Association (UEFA) said that European clubs can register a maximum of two players from Russian and Ukrainian clubs during the remaining matches of this year in continental competitions in light of the Russian military operation in Ukraine.

The International Federation “FIFA” earlier this month allowed foreign players and coaches to leave Russian and Ukrainian clubs temporarily, and sign new clubs due to the crisis.

“The Executive Committee has decided to allow clubs to register a maximum of two players who are registered in the Russian Federation or Ukraine, and their contracts have been suspended,” UEFA said in a statement.

Players can participate in the Champions League, European League and Conference League for the remainder of the 2021-2022 season.
